Dear community members,
This past week, 5ire (a $1.5 Billion unicorn) bought a stake in Network Capital and I (Utkarsh) took on the role of Chief Marketing Officer of 5ire.org in addition to my job as the CEO of Network Capital. Lots of newspapers covered it. The Economic Times, Mint, Business World, Business Today, Inc 42 included details of the deal. You can read it if time permits. Today’s newsletter isn’t about past laurels. It is about the future. Let’s dive in.
Crunchbase tells us that 5ire acquired Network Capital. Acquiring a stake in the company and acquiring a company are different but media is never known for its subtlety. That’s a discussion for another day, perhaps.
Overall, it is exciting news for Network Capital and for all of you, our cherished community members. Stake acquisition by a unicorn means that we have even more firepower to pursue our mission, i.e., empowering every person on the planet to pursue careers they are passionate about. We can now create a much larger endowment fund and offer much more scholarships to those who can’t afford our subscriptions. We can choose to be a lot more selective in projects and partnerships we pursue.

💌 Last 500 Years in a Tiny Newsletter - History doesn’t repeat itself but it often rhymes. Keeping these period of history in mind will help you explore contemporary trends with greater clarity.
💌 How to live in a crazy ambiguous world? - If you were to ask Beauvoir for an exhaustive account of how-to live-in ambiguity, she would say that was like asking a painter: ‘By what procedures does one produce a work whose beauty is guaranteed?’ There is no fixed recipe. It is our responsibility to try and find out for ourselves.
Have a wonderful week ahead.
