You have now seen it all. Great resignation, great layoffs, work from home, work from anywhere, work from nowhere. If you are like most of us, your career seems like an unsolvable puzzle. Each day unleashes a new adventure that seems impossible to navigate.
Confusion, lack of clarity and career malaise seem to be the flavor of the season. Amidst all of this, one helpful strategy is to not look around at what others are doing. We tend to mimic desires of those we admire and if they happen to be struggling, we feel that we must follow their path. This is not our opinion but the age old mimetic theory. Desires are not original. We copy, and that’s ok. Philosopher Rene Girard spent his entire life attempting to explain this.
