I spent Christmas eve with my partner and her family at a sea facing restaurant in Abu Dhabi. Among other things, it was great celebrating the birthday of my father-in-law. He is 69, went through a bunch of operations in a country that is a state of free fall. This year taught me the importance of time with loved ones. Truth be told, we have a lot less time left with those we cherish. Losing my grandmother made me acutely aware of the fact.
There were some work calls that interrupted dinner but I managed to be there, fully immersed in the quality family time. This is something I plan to do more of in 2023.
This brings me to some of the essays I have enjoyed writing this year. Here is a quick recap.
