If Taylor Swift were a stock, would you invest in her?
To answer this question, let’s review her career. Her current net worth is estimated to be a staggering $1.1 billion, according to analyses by both Bloomberg and Forbes. This makes her one of the few artists to reach billionaire status solely from her music and performing career, without relying on other business ventures. Swift's music catalog, including the re-recorded versions of her earlier albums, is estimated to be worth around $400 million. She has also earned an estimated $175 million through her streaming deals with platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and others, while her record sales have generated an estimated $80 million in royalties.
However, Swift's concert tours have been the primary driver of her wealth. The U.S. leg of her ongoing "Eras Tour" alone is estimated to have generated over $780 million in ticket sales. Her previous tours, such as the "Reputation Tour" in 2018 and the "1989 World Tour" in 2015, have also been hugely successful, generating $266.1 million and $250 million respectively. Most recently, Swift's latest album, "Midnights," released in October 2022, has been a massive commercial success. The album sold 6 million album-equivalent units worldwide in the first two months of its release, making Swift the only artist to have five albums sell over 1 million units in their debut week. The album is estimated to have generated around $230 million in record sales revenue for Swift.
